And no, i dont use selection while i paint. In these videos i used layer masks. But i now use clipping masks.

And what was that thing of you always painting things red before actually painting that part? I didn't get it... and some times you also passed a brush quickly over a section of the image and deleted it after that. Could you explain these part for me?

Regarding the redness... I paint red (or yellow or green or any other noticeable color) because that way i can see easily exactly what parts are going to be painted. Also, this way i can see if the color fills the lines correctly . The color never really reaches the line with the bucket tool, it always leaves a pixel of two without color and that look horrible in the end. If you paint the same (or similar) color as the background you would never see this. Once I am sure the fill is correctly applied to all the parts i need, i can turn it gray or any other color to use as base color.
And the quick passes.. i guess i was just checking if the layer was locked or something like that...
